AG ES BSEMA TASKS NEW STAFF TO VIGOROUSLY PURSUE THE MANDATES  OF THE AGENCY
The Acting Executive Secretary, Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA), Sir James Anodoakaa Iorpuu , Today Tuesday, 4th July 2023, tasks the newly appointed Casual and Adhoc Staff of the Agency to strictly work in tandem with core mandates, vision and responsibilities of the Agency, for effective and efficient management of Emergencies/disasters in the State. Sir James Iorpuu said this at Kyabiz Hotel, Makurdi, the Benue State Capital while addressing the newly employed staff of the Agency. The Acting ES, on behalf of the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, warmly congratulated them on their meritorious employment. He thanked the Governor for giving him the opportunity, saying, “it is a call to service to humanity and work has commence in earnest”. The Ag BSEMA boss charged the new staff to equally consider their appointment as service to humanity, urging them to take the training seriously which according to him is to equip them on the guiding principles and operations of the Agency. While reiterating his commitment to collaborate with relevant and critical Stakeholders in Humanitarian sector targeted towards reducing human suffering in line with Global Best Practices, Sir James Iorpuu noted that, the Agency would embark on verification of data of the IDPs as well as develop a framework for resettlement plan in close collaboration with Humanitarian Partners and Spirited individuals. The Ag. BSEMA ES cautioned the new staff against engaging in sharp practices especially in the area of receiving and sharing of relief materials meant for IDPs, warning also that relief items meant for Persons of Concern should not diverted. Sir. James Iorpuu, was accompanied to the event by the top Management of the Agency including Stephen Burbwa (Chief Accountant), Mimi Elohor Tion(Head of Planning, Research and Statistics), Felix Angbior (Cashier of the Agency) among others. Highpoints of the event were presentation of appointment letters to the new staff and induction programme on the mandates and responsibilities of Benue BSEMA, Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), Community participation, Gender Based Violence (GBV), among others
