Goodwill Message to Workers on the Occasion of Workers' Day
Felicitations to All Workers
On behalf of the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (Benue SEMA), the Executive Secretary, Sir James Aondoakaa Iorpuu PhD, extends warm felicitations to all workers in Benue State and across Nigeria on the occasion of Workers' Day, celebrated today, Friday, 1st May, 2026.
Workers' Day is not merely a public holiday. It is a moment of national reflection, an opportunity to pause and recognise the resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions of working men and women who remain the backbone of our society and the driving force behind development and progress.
Honouring Humanitarian Workers and Emergency Responders
On this occasion, Sir James particularly commends the commitment and sacrifices of humanitarian workers, emergency responders, and all personnel working tirelessly to provide support to vulnerable populations, especially in times of crisis.
These are the men and women who leave their families to serve other families. Who work through floods, conflicts, and displacement events so that others can find safety and dignity. Their courage, professionalism, and selflessness continue to inspire hope and restore dignity to those affected by emergencies and displacement across Benue State and beyond.
"Your courage, professionalism, and selflessness continue to inspire hope and restore dignity to those affected by emergencies and displacement."
A Call to Remain Steadfast
As Benue State joins the rest of Nigeria in marking this day, the Executive Secretary urges all workers to remain steadfast in their duties, uphold the highest standards of service, and continue to work collaboratively towards building a safer, more resilient, and prosperous Benue State.
The challenges facing workers across the state are not lost on the agency's leadership. From civil servants navigating complex institutional demands to field workers operating in difficult and sometimes dangerous terrain, every worker's contribution matters and is deeply valued.
Benue SEMA's Commitment to Workers' Welfare
The Benue State Emergency Management Agency reaffirms its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the welfare, safety, and productivity of all workers. This commitment extends not only to its own staff but to every worker across Benue State whose daily effort contributes to a more stable and resilient society.
Benue SEMA recognises that sustainable emergency management is only possible when the people doing the work at every level are supported, valued, and protected. A workforce that is well-treated is a workforce that delivers.
A Happy and Fulfilling Workers' Day
To every teacher, nurse, farmer, civil servant, emergency responder, humanitarian worker, and working person across Benue State, this day belongs to you. Your labour builds this state. Your resilience sustains it. And your dignity is worth celebrating today and every day.
Once again, Sir James Aondoakaa Iorpuu, PhD and the entire Benue SEMA family congratulate all workers and wish everyone a happy, restful, and fulfilling Workers' Day celebration.
Signed,
